Electric bike prices could drop by a third as part of UK government subsidy plan
Pilot scheme expected before April 2021 The UK government is considering plans to subsidise the purchase of electric bikes, which could see prices to consumers drop by up to a third, according to The Times. Outlines of the scheme were given in response to a parliamentary question by transport minister Chris Heaton-Harris, who said that the government was “developing a national programme of support to boost ebike uptake to the levels seen in many other countries”. The Times says the plan is to set up trials of the scheme this fiscal year, which means before the end of March 2021....
