At I Cycle we believe in ONE price to service your bike.
We do not buy into the gold, silver and bronze philosophy.
We will service your bike as if it were our own pride and joy, carrying out what needs doing routinely.
If you want something extra, we can fully tailor your service to what ever you want. If you want every nut, bolt and bearing removing…. No problem. If you only want the tyres pumping up…. No problem.
If we discover any issues along the way we will get in touch and let YOU decide what to do.
You will not be faced with a surprise bill when you collect your bike. It is very important that you see us as open and honest throughout the process.
Routine service prices
- £59 Adult bike full mechanical service
- £99 Adult bike Bosch serviced and full mechanical service
- £45 Kids bike with gears
- £30 Kids bike without gears
- £10 change innertube (tube is extra)
- £15 Rear hub change inner tube (tube is extra)
Typical extra requests may include the following:
- Brake bleeds
- Tubeless set up
- Electric bike diagnostics and repair
- Wheel building
- Suspension fork and shock servicing
- Bearing replacement including full suspension pivot bearings
All work can be tailored to your needs. If you want something extra, we can give you an estimate based on our hourly rate of £45 per hour.
Breakdown of routine service.
Tyres
- Check for sidewall cracks
- Check for excessive tread wear
- Fit to rim correctly/wobble
- Dust caps present
- Air pressure correct
Wheels
- Rim runs true and in good condition
- Bearings run smoothly and no play
- Free hub runs freely
- Spokes are tight and in good condition
- Wheel secure in the frame/forks. QR operates correctly
Cockpit
- Stem bolts torque correct (to steerer and bars)
- Grips secure
- Grips not badly worn
- Bar plugs fitted
Saddle
- Check for wear/damage
- Bolt torque at rails and seat post collar
- Check seat post moves
- Headset bearings good condition and no play
Brakes – Vee/cantilever/road
- Brakes bite and stop evenly (front/back)
- No excessive noise
- Blocks - check for wear
- Blocks - tight in arms
- Blocks - set up correctly
- Arms pull and retract equally and do not rub
- Cables run smoothly
- Check noodle sits in arm cage safely
- Check lever travel is not excessive
- Check all bolts are tight
- Check all adjustment points turn freely
Drivetrain
- Chain wear and condition checked (clean and lubed correctly)
- Cassette and front ring teeth condition checked
- Front derailleur works without excessive play
- Rear derailleur works without excessive play
- Check jockey wheel condition
- Check rear derailleur is adjusted within low/high limits
- Shifters are in good condition and are not stiff
- Barrel adjusters turn freely
- Gear cable outers are not damaged
Crank area
- Bottom bracket bearings ok – no play or rough running
- Pedal bearings ok – no play or rough running
- Pedals tight on the crank arm
Suspension
- Operates smoothly without excessive play or damage
- Dials all turn and function correctly
- Seals are not damaged
- Set to correct pressure for rider
